What to Consider When Translating Your Website?
26 May 2021 | 0 comments | Posted by Patrick Watt in Industry Experts
Our websites are a wonderful way to reach an audience, convey our message, and have an impact on our visitors and readers. Since websites are open to readers of all nations and languages, it can be daunting how large your reach can become with a website. If you're thinking about expanding to new markets or offering new language options to improve your sites reach, then you must understand this will not be a simple cut and paste project.
Adding new language support adds several layers of operational complexity and if you are attempting to translate your website into a different language, here are some things you should consider.
The majority of your audience
If the majority of your website's audience speaks a foreign language, one thing you should consider is to translate your entire website into that particular language.
This will make it easier for your audience to read, understand, and find ways to apply the information you provide them with practically.
Using a website language translator will give you the ability to connect with more people who are potential website visitors that can become part of your ever-growing audience. Remember, the bigger your audience, the larger your potential reach, the more successful your business and website can become.
International scope
To reach a larger scope of people, consider running your website with content for international markets. The world is filled with thousands, if not millions, of people who may be interested in the exact type of business or information your website provides. To have a wider reach, provide content that will resonate with international markets, not just local ones.
Google ranking
Everybody knows that the higher their website ranks on Google, the more people they can reach, and the larger their audience and influence can grow. The more people that can organically find your website and spend longer amounts of time on it, the less your websites bounce rate will be, thereby raising your website ranking in the process.
That is an additional reason to consider translating your website into multiple languages, to help your audience find you from a simple google search.
User-friendliness
One thing you must be aware of to capture more of an audience is how user-friendly your website is. If your site works well, is easy to navigate, and loads fast, your visitors will spend more time on it before clicking away and going elsewhere.
To make sure they spend more time on your site, really work on making sure your website loading speed is truly as fast as possible. Everybody leaves a slow site if it is taking a long time to load, don't let this happen to your websites potential visitors as well.
Additional advice
For best results, you will want to get a VPS cloud server for your multilingual website. VPS Hosting, or Virtual Private Server, is the way to go because it dedicates a server specifically to your site, as opposed to sharing it with other websites as well.
This is highly beneficial because you do not have to share the server; your website can work at greater speeds and take on more traffic without encountering lagging or crashes due to simply too much going on.
The benefits
Remember, translating your website and moving it to a VPS server will allow you to reach a larger audience by boosting your google ranking and increasing the website speed. The more people you can reach, the more successful your website will be.
