5 Kitchen Remodelling Tips For Your Forever Home

Tips to remodel your kitchen once and for all

For the past few years, the kitchen has emerged as the focal point of the home. Kitchens have progressed from a hidden back room with utilitarian equipment to a family haven for homework, gathering, entertaining, and a variety of other activities.

Our team will assist you in designing a kitchen that meets both your current and future needs! If you are considering remodelling your kitchen in the near future, here are a few features to consider:

Make sure you have a solid plan in place before beginning the renovation to ensure that your new kitchen will meet your needs. As you cook, go through your routine, make a list of any favourite details or annoyances about your current space, and incorporate any necessary changes into your design plan.

Natural light and openness

Many homeowners do not have windows in their kitchens. The kitchen and living room are the most used rooms in your house. If you were to reminisce about your childhood or any other time in your life, your memories would most likely take place in a kitchen or family room.

One of the most important things you can do for your home is to make these rooms warmer and more inviting by adding windows. The kitchen and living room areas should have an open flow.

This is now a requirement in a home that buyers are looking for. Members of the family want to be able to visit and participate in the activities while the meals are being cooked and prepared.

Countertops and Islands

Even though granite has recently become popular, you should consider a more dependable stone, such as quartz, for its longevity. Because quartz is not porous and does not scratch or stain, this is a worthwhile investment for you and your family.

Unlike the island, this section of the kitchen "connects" the kitchen to the living area. The island is quickly becoming a popular destination for family reunions.

Some family members find it easier to visit or snack on a meal while cooking and preparing is taking place. If you only have a few minutes, this is a good place to sit and gather. The breakfast bar is quickly replacing the formal kitchen table.

Cabinetry Design

Older kitchens with cabinetry that stops short of the ceiling have the disadvantage of lacking additional storage space. While the lighting is compromised, dust accumulates. Bring your cabinets all the way to the ceiling for a more modern look. Additionally, ensure that your cabinets do not obstruct the flow of conversations and gatherings.

Choose high-quality kitchen cabinets because they will make a significant difference in your kitchen. Also, make corner cabinets accessible. Corner cabinets have a lot of storage but are difficult to get to.

The bend-reach-lift motion can also be difficult for people with back problems, so let's keep it as simple as possible! Consider a corner cabinet option that eliminates the need to bend over/reach and dig. We would also recommend drawers or sliding shelves. Drawers make it easy to see all your kitchen items at once!

Keep the sink close to the stove

It's a good idea to have a general idea of where you want your key appliances to be placed. Make sure your sink is close to the stove. Carrying large pots of water to and from the cooktop becomes more difficult as we age. If there are any spills along the way, you have a slipping hazard. As a result, keep your sink close to your stove and a workspace between them.

Appliances

Hide the extra items to achieve the sleek appearance of a modern kitchen. Having a microwave that is counter-height or lower is easier on your back and shoulders, whether it is freestanding or built-in. If you don't want to give up counter space, put your microwave in a base cabinet. Setting a heavy plate beneath you is easier than lifting it above your shoulders.

Spills are also less likely when hot food is removed from the microwave at counter height or lower. From relocating your microwave above the stove to a built-in island shelf to replacing your refrigerator with a refrigerator drawer, the minimalist look is a sure way to achieve your modern goals.

We hope these tips motivate you to plan a kitchen remodel that you and your family will enjoy for years to come!
