South Africa's most popular searches in 2017

Google has announced its annual look back, the summary of a Year in Search and this year they've given us a small peek into the top searches made by South Africa in 2017.

This is a snapshot of the most popular search trends and the most popular search categories and shows us how South African’s like to use Google. 2017 data release has also included the top ten ‘near me’ and ‘recipe’ queries for the year, which has grown in popularity as South African foodies become more prominent online. Search topics have changed over the past 12 months if we compare the top dogs dominating last year.

Top searches included Pokemon Go as well as plenty of sport-related searches like Euro 2016, Olympic Games Rio 2016 To view out last years search trends and see how they compare, check out our previous post - South Africa’s Top Google Searches for 2016 So what did South African's look for in 2017?
