What Is The 'Soft Life' Aesthetic, And How Can I Achieve It?

01 December 2022 | 0 comments | Posted by Amy Jones in Mind, Body & Soul

Soft life Aesthetic

Since the pandemic, there have been many new trends circulating all over social media. One of the most recent and widely popular trends is the 'soft life' trend, which we are seeing many women benefiting from. People have made their interpretations of soft life, whether it is being used to describe their life of luxury or used as a way to describe their mindset and state of health.

Living a soft life does not mean you change your whole perspective on life and adopt a new alter ego, but there are small habits that you might start to prioritize that you did not consider important before. The main message of soft life is to make your existence one of pleasure and self-love, which many of us have struggled with at some point in our lives.

What is a soft mindset?

Contrary to the hustle culture that had everyone in a chokehold during 2020, the soft life culture is about living stress-free and having the peace of mind that you are always expecting good things to happen. The soft life aesthetic also includes habits that will help you get through stressful times.

A soft mindset is also about having mental clarity; the women who benefit from adopting this have a strong belief system that they deserve all the good things that come to them.

Their self-love, of course, might be inconsistent as we are all human, but when they are in a state of love and appreciation, they radiate the softest, most deserving energy.

Here are some of the things to consider if you wish to adopt a soft lifestyle:

Be open to receiving

A large part of adopting a soft lifestyle largely involves being open to accepting help and releasing the stress from completing hard work. This does not mean to say you can't carry all the shopping bags into the home by yourself, but if your partner offers to take charge and complete tasks for you, let them.

Many of us feel uncomfortable about accepting help or gifts if they are not asked for and are unexpected, but you should step out of your comfort zone and embrace the appreciation you are being shown.

Soft life also involves a simpler life, and having help from those who are willing to give it without ill intentions is a key part of this.

Create boundaries

If you are hoping to achieve the soft life aesthetic, you need to stop pleasing people. Many of us are culprits of pleasing people, going out of our way to do tasks for others that get unnoticed and unappreciated.

Setting boundaries is one of the first things you should implement when starting to live softer. Remove the people who overstep these boundaries and those who do not respect your decisions.

It is, of course, thoughtful to do nice things for people occasionally, but when people think they can take advantage of the help you offer them, it is time to reduce your contact with them. If something makes you uncomfortable, say it.

It might feel like a difficult conversation at first, but as time passes, this becomes part of the respect you have for yourself.

Avoid negativity

On the topic of creating boundaries, you should also avoid any form of negativity full stop. Perhaps it might be family or friends that direct their negative, unsolicited opinions towards you, and these are often the points that stick with us the most.

These types of people will not want to see you in a better mindset and place in your life; therefore, you need to surround yourself with like-minded people instead. Keep your circle full of people who want to support each other and see each other get everything they want in life.

Embrace femininity

Possibly one of the most important points of soft life is your ability to embrace your femininity. Femininity involves loving all the romantic, comforting attributes that are involved in being a woman.

Things such as your self-care routine can be implemented to achieve the feeling of femininity. The woman who lives at the height of a soft life prioritizes self-care routines above anything else. This does not have to be a gruelling glow-up that breaks the bank each month but simply making sure that they always look and feel beautiful each day is self-care in itself.

Perhaps you might be self-indulgent and spend some time doing your skincare routine and nails when necessary. You deserve to look beautiful and love yourself, so allow yourself this 'me time and embrace the feminine energy.

Your life should be filled with peace and enjoyment, and even though there are external things in our environment that we can't control, we can always change our mindsets with our habits. Once you start implementing soft habits such as dressing in soft white dresses, spending time on your health, and embracing help, you will notice how much better you feel about your life. Start embracing this lifestyle and watch your life improve for the better.
