Why Event Management Companies Should Have A Large Format Printer
17 March 2022 | 0 comments | Posted by Nicole D'Almeida in Extravaganza
Event management companies are all about creating quality experiences, leaving those who attend the events with a sense of fulfilled enjoyment. The success of these events ultimately becomes your brand, with positive impressions leading the way to gold. In fact, a positive impression is so important that it can make or break your company. How you showcase yourself is what will remain in the minds of your attendees long after the event is over - negative experiences included.
What defines a large format printer
Large or wide format printers print on large rolls of paper, sized around 60cms to 450cm in width. Anything larger than that can be considered as a grand format printer. These rolls allow for oversized, seamless prints, focusing on high-quality turnouts, large or small.
The downside to small format printers
Unfortunately, when it comes to printing anything which is considered oversized on a smaller printer, like posters or banners, you run the risk of pixelated images, inconsistent colour between prints and lower quality overall. Besides, how will you make your brand and event look good on posters that have been taped together using separate A4 prints? And is this really how you want to spend your precious time?
Protect your brand's image
As a large part of an events company's job is to make a venue look good, you need to be at the top of your game when it comes to printing crisp, vibrant, eye-catching decor. You really can't afford to make mistakes on this one, as word of a negative reputation spreads fast. You should also ensure guests actually find any promotional material you send out appealing, otherwise they might not even show up at all.
Ways to benefit by using a large format printer as an events company
If you're in the industry you probably already know the benefits of using a wide format printer. On the flip side, maybe you're in the process of setting up an events management company and you'd like some inspiration and insider intel. Well, large format printers allow you to print oversized posters, backdrops for event stands, event stands, backdrops for stages, floor art, wall art, ceiling art, table art, banners and hanging decor - just to name a few.
If you specialise in photography, art or design, you might want to focus on high-quality photographic prints. Or, you could even print out various backgrounds for your photobooths. If you're helping a brand get their name out there, you'll be able to hone in on razor-sharp logos and branding. If your event is especially large, you might wish to print out a floor plan or oversized map of the venue. Ultimately, the possibilities are endless when you aren't restricted by a small canvas.
Cut out the middleman
Sure, you could hire a company to do any large prints for you, but this means that you'll have to work according to their schedule - a potential nightmare. Event planning can be stressful, especially when it's last minute and you're working with a tight deadline.
Owning a large format printer yourself means that your company will be able to operate in-house, saving valuable time. You won't have to wait for the printing company to get back to you, deliver you your prints, rectify mistakes or make last minute changes.
Ditch the hefty expenses
Generally, outsourcing a company to do large prints for you also comes with a hefty price tag. Investing in a large printer might seem like it's going to break the bank at first, but it's actually quite the opposite. Owning one yourself will not only save you time and energy, but heaps of money in the long run, too.
Instead of spending all this money on outsourcing services, you can even rent out your printer or provide services to others. This also means that you can take all that money you're saving and re-invest it into your business.
Create a unique selling point (USP)
Saving money by doing things in-house also means you might be able to offer your clients a rate that is competitive. In addition, you'll be more equipped to accept jobs based on a shorter notice, because you'll skip the middleman, turn more profit and boost your reputation. Hence, clients might choose you over everyone else purely based on price, efficiency and punctuality.
Offer your clients a deeper sense of security
Clients may also feel more comfortable knowing that the job is being done under one roof. They could be handing over valuable items for scanning or printing, or items they don't trust in the hands of others. Doing things in-house, therefore, can offer them protection and security which they potentially wouldn't be guaranteed otherwise.
