Track your fitness and earn cryptocurrency

The fitness industry has embraced technology and its safe to say it will continue to add more technological advances to improve fitness in the future. From enhanced clothing and gear to fitness trackers and metric performance analysis, there's always something new going on in the world of sport and fitness. So it comes as no surprise that fitness and cryptocurrency are looking to pair up and get you motivated to burn some calories and earn some crypto.

If this "burn and earn" approach to fitness sounds interesting to you, then check out some of these crypto fitness projects currently in the works.

ActiFit

ActiFit is a fitness tracking application available for both Android and iOS and rewards users for their workouts or "Proof of Sweat" with a native token. ActiFit tokens are currently an ERC-20 token, but the application runs on the STEEM blockchain.

ActiFit users complete their workouts with their device tracking their movements, and once they've reached the reward minimum threshold which kicks in after you perform 5000 steps per day, they will earn tokens.

A user who posts their workout summary/report card to Steemit will earn additional rewards in STEEM. The app also has an integration option for you Fitbit (currently only on the Andriod version), making it a little easier to track your workouts

All earnings from Sweatcoin can be purchases, and traders live in their centralised ecosystem, which effectively makes it a loyalty program more than a cryptocurrency. Once you've downloaded and installed the app on your mobile device, it will track your steps and reward users with a native currency known as .Using its ‘Walk&Earn’ feature, the app currently pays out at a rate of 0.95 Sweatcoins per 1,000 steps taken outdoors.

SweatCoins can then be redeemed for

  • In-app purchases
  • Fitness products and gadgets
  • Amazon or PayPal gift cards
  • Donated to charity

Fitness database

The app will capture data and store it on the blockchain creating a decentralised hub of fitness data

Open rewards program

Earning or purchasing LYM will allow you to buy fitness, wellness, medically related services as well as purchase goods from retail stores as if LYM were fiat currency. LYM will allow various fitness-related businesses to tap into their network and use it as a rewards program or as a method of payment. Lympho is the only one of these tokens that can be traded as a cryptocurrency since its listed on four exchanges as well as Coin Market Cap.
