The Perfect Weekend Away Wardrobe For Spring
20 January 2021 | 1 comments | Posted by Daisy Moss in Fashionista
If you're planning a weekend getaway, you want to make sure you're looking your best. Here are a few mens' staples that you can take with you that will help you to pack light whilst looking as fashionable as ever. This lookbook is designed for cool to medium temperatures, with options if it gets slightly warmer or cooler. Prepare to make a fashion statement on your trip with this wardrobe!
Lightweight denim jacket
Having a light jacket is essential for city breaks. If you're heading out for the entire day, you will need to have something to throw on when it gets a bit cooler. A denim jacket is perfect as it is so diverse so you can wear it every day if you need a range of outfits.
Unless you're feeling risky, try to avoid matching denim. If you prefer black jeans, go for a light blue denim jacket or if you wear blue jeans more often, go for a black denim jacket. Having this in your suitcase will give you plenty of options when it comes to layering.
Funky shirt
Is there a better excuse to wear a funky shirt than when you're on holiday? Make a statement on your trip with a daring shirt that makes you stand out. Pairing a bright or patterned shirt with plain jeans and simple shoes creates an effortless look that people will think you've spent hours on. If you're a bit more cautious, choose a dark colour shirt with a subtle pattern. This can be worn on warmer days or layered with the denim jacket for a complete look.
Black or blue jeans
An absolute staple in your weekend away case will be a pair of jeans. The colour comes entirely down to preference and also the colour of other things you want to pack. Jeans can be dressed up or down, they're comfy enough to travel in, and they can also be suitable for warmer or cooler weather depending on what you wear on top.
If you want an exceptionally comfy option, travel in a men's full tracksuit and then pack your jeans in your suitcase to have the best of both worlds. This is one item you don't want to forget!
Flannel shirt
Another great item for layering is a flannel shirt. You can wear it open with a t-shirt underneath for a warm and stylish look; then you can tie it around your waist if it gets too warm. For a night in the pub, you can wear it without the t-shirt and add some smart shoes for something effortless. If it gets frigid, flannel shirts look great when layered with a plain t-shirt and then a denim jacket on top. It is easy to transition from day to night with a flannel shirt so you should consider it for your weekend away wardrobe.
All black trainers
Footwear can take up a lot of space in your bag, so if you only have a small suitcase or bag, you need shoes you can wear on the plane and for the rest of your trip. For this, your safest bet is going for all black trainers. They go with everything, and if you pick smart ones, they could also be great for nights out. Although some countries are very strict about footwear on nights out, so it might be best to pack smart shoes just in the case depending on your plans.
If you prefer a lighter colour palette, for example, you've chosen a light denim jacket, funky white shirt and flannel shirt, then white trainers might be a better option. For those of you who prefer darker colours, stick with black trainers.
Final thoughts
So there you have it! A fashionable, diverse and lightweight wardrobe that is perfect for any weekend away. If you are heading somewhere cooler, wear a warmer jacket on the plane that can be worn throughout your trip, and this wardrobe will still work well.
