Managed services is the practice of outsourcing the responsibility for maintaining, and anticipating need for, a range of processes and functions in order to improve operations and cut expenses. It is a pro-active alternative to the break/fix model. The Managed Services Provider (MSP) is the service provider delivering the managed services. The client and the MSP are bound by a contractual, service-level agreement that states the performance and quality metrics of their relationship.

Information and Communication Technology or “ICT,” includes products that store, process, transmit, convert, duplicate, or receive electronic information. Examples are: software applications and operating systems like Microsoft windows and Microsoft office, web-based information and applications such as Microsoft Azure and its plethora of applications and functions, telephones and other telecommunications products such as VoIP and Cloud PABX, multimedia products that may be distributed on CDs, DVDs, email, or the World Wide Web, office products such as photocopiers, calculators and computer hardware.
