5 Questions To Ask Before Planning Your Trip To Bali
17 June 2022 | 0 comments | Posted by Mark Bingham in Hit the Road
Planning a trip to Bali? You'll see impressive temples, stunning beaches, and lush rice terraces. But before you start packing your bags, there are a few things you should know about this popular destination. Here are five things to remember when planning your trip to Bali!
1. When are we packing?
The best time to visit Bali is between April and October, when the weather is dry and sunny. The weather at this time of year is perfect for spending time on the beach or exploring the many temples and rice terraces.
However, this is also the busiest time of year, so expect crowds at popular attractions. If you don't mind a little rain, you can visit during the wet season (November to March), when accommodation and flights are often cheaper.
A lot of people get worried about the rain in Bali, but it's not that bad. It usually only rains for an hour or two in the afternoon, and the rest of the day is still beautiful.
Additionally, the rain can be a relief from the heat, and it's not that difficult to plan around. Just make sure you pack a light rain jacket and an umbrella!
2. How are we getting there?
Bali is easily accessible from most major airports in Southeast Asia. The main airport, Ngurah Rai International Airport, is located in the southern part of the island and serves both domestic and international flights.
Getting around Bali is relatively easy, as there are plenty of taxis, motorbikes, and buses available. You can also rent a car to explore the island at your own pace. When it comes to walking, however, Bali can be quite hilly in some parts.
Make sure to bring local currency for transport and shopping, as not all vendors will accept credit cards.
3. What are we eating?
Bali is known for its delicious food, from fresh seafood to mouth-watering fruits and vegetables. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, but street food is also popular.
If you want to try some traditional Balinese dishes, be sure to try nasi goreng (fried rice), sate Ayam (chicken skewers), and Gado-Gado (a vegetable salad). And don't forget to wash it all down with refreshing coconut water! Stay away from anything sitting out in the sun for too long, as this can often lead to food poisoning.
As well as that, make sure to pack some probiotics with you and start taking them a few days before you travel. No matter how delicious the new food might be, it might still upset your stomach because it's not used to the different ingredients.
4. Where are we staying?
There's no shortage of accommodation options in Bali, from luxury resorts to budget-friendly guesthouses. You can find a room to suit any budget, but keep in mind that prices tend to be higher during the peak season. Keep an eye out for the best Bali accommodation deals, as you can often save a lot of money by booking in advance. As well as that, you should know that there is a wide variety of unique accommodation available on this beautiful island.
For example, you can stay in a traditional Balinese villa or treehouse! Additionally, many guesthouses and hotels offer yoga and meditation classes, as well as other health and wellness treatments.
5. What are we doing?
There's no shortage of things to do in Bali, from exploring temples and rice terraces to relaxing on the beach. If you're looking for a more active vacation, you can go hiking, snorkelling, or even surfing.
And don't forget to enjoy some of the island's famous spa treatments!
Balinese massages are the perfect way to relax after a long day of exploring. Don't miss out on the opportunity to see a traditional Balinese dance performance, such as the Legong of Barong. These dances are a sight to behold, and you'll be amazed by the dancers' skill.
If you're only going on a short trip, you should plan your trip around seeing the Tanah Lot temple, Ubud Monkey Forest, and Uluwatu Temple. These sights can't be missed, regardless of how long you're staying, as they're genuinely one of a kind.
But even if you're only staying for a week, make sure to leave some time for relaxing and taking it easy. After all, that's what vacations are all about! The best beaches include Kuta, Seminyak, and Jimbaran.
Conclusion
The next time your travel buddy asks you these five questions, you'll have all the correct answers! With its stunning beaches, lush rice terraces, and delicious food, Bali is a popular destination. Just make sure to do your research before going so you can make the most of your trip!
