How To Organize A Comfortable Holiday In UAE

01 August 2024 | 0 comments | Posted by Inna Renty in Hit the Road

planning a trip in UAE

The UAE is a luxury experience like no other. The Middle Eastern country offers chic shopping, lively nightlife, and many respectable hotels. People come to explore the country by land or sea. In particular, you can rent a Dubai yacht to see this amazing city from the water.

That said, a water trip can be whatever your taste - a yacht party with friends, a romantic evening, or a measured trip just for you.

In addition, the Emirates also offers incredible desert landscapes, the country's unique culture, and a long history. But before you start planning your trip, you should check out a few tips to make your UAE holiday as comfortable as possible.

It would help if you did not go to Dubai in the summer

Dubai has a fairly hot climate, especially in the summer. If you come from June to August, you will have to endure a lot of heat—in the range of 38-40 degrees C. If you go in April, the air temperature will be about 30 C.

It plays a big difference when you have to spend the whole day, let’s say, on your rented yacht under the boiling sun, doesn’t it?

Therefore, coming to the country from December to February is best. Currently, the most comfortable temperature for travellers is 25 degrees C—on average. At the same time, tourists can still visit beaches, splash in pools, visit water parks, and visit local attractions without overheating in the sun.

But it is worth considering that winter is the peak season for tourists. It is logical that at this time, hotels will have the highest prices for accommodation, and popular attractions will have a huge influx of visitors.

It is also a good option to go to Dubai in the off-season—from October to November and from March to April. At this time, the air temperature is 30-35 degrees C. But the prices for holidays are less.

Give preference to weekdays

In Dubai, life is busy not only on weekdays but also on weekends. Therefore, if you want to comfortably visit local attractions, it is best to do it on weekdays.

Do not go to different locations on weekends and public holidays—at this time, there is a very large influx of people. If you can adjust your plans, it is best not to visit popular attractions on Friday afternoon, Saturday, and Sunday.

That said, you can devote the weekend to more relaxing activities: organize a boat trip, take a bike ride on the beach, swim in the pool or sunbathe, go parasailing, and so on.

Shop wisely, and remember to haggle

Dubai is a great place to shop, but prices vary depending on where you shop. If you shop in a prestigious shopping center like Dubai Mall, you should be prepared for high prices. At the same time, the Dubai Outlet Mall offers better rates for tourists.

Tourists can also visit the local markets, where they can find more favourable deals. It is definitely worth bargaining. Local sellers take advantage of travelers' naivety and can ask for quite a high price. Therefore, do not hesitate to offer the right amount; always be prepared to walk away.

Use credit cards

The official currency of the UAE is dirhams, and all prices are quoted in this currency. Tourists can pay in cash, bank cards, or via smartphone. You should also ensure you always have cash in the local currency in case you're internet banking is not reliable enough. If you do have an internationally recognized credit card like Master Card, Visa or American Express, you should be interoperable with most if not all pay points in Dubai, making a credit card a must have when travelling the country.

Dubai is a city of contrasts, offering a blend of modern marvels and traditional charm and depending on your interests or personal tastes, some aspects of Dubai will appeal to you more than others; some might prefer sightseeing while others are there for the shopping experience, regardless here is a list of must-see spots to help you plan your trip:

A few more important details before travelling

Travelers to the UAE should also be aware of a few extra rules that will make your holiday more comfortable:

  • Take a reusable plastic water bottle with you. Dubai has a fairly warm and dry climate, so you may be thirsty while sightseeing. Tap water is quite safe to drink in the UAE, and some public places have free water taps.
  • Take a G adapter on your trip. If you're staying in a hotel, there's a good chance there will be a European plug, or you can use a USB cable. But it's better to be safe and bring a G-type outlet with you.
  • Protect yourself from the sun. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. This way, you can comfortably visit a variety of outdoor locations.
  • Take a Power bank with you when you travel. This way, you can easily charge your phone on the road.
  • No one obliges you to tip, but it is encouraged in the UAE. Most travelers tip 10-15% in restaurants. They may also give a small gift to the guides. Therefore, it is best to worry about having a few small notes in local currency (dirhams) in advance.

It is the end of our tips. Our recommendations will make your holiday in the UAE not just comfortable but also memorable for life, so you will want to visit this incredible country again.
