How To Maximise Space In Your Small Apartment?

Storage tricks for a tiny apartment

A spacious and affordable apartment is complicated to find in a big city. If you want the apartment to fit your budget, you either have to sacrifice the location, or you will have to sacrifice the space of the residence.

If you decide to go with the latter, don't worry, there are a few tips and tricks that will help you organise and store all the things that you have in your flat without making it look messy.

1. Utilise smart storage solutions

Smart storage solutions. What are they! You'd ask? Things like clothes, shoes, toys, and other teeny tiny possessions of you take up a lot of room. These are the things we struggle to keep correctly organised. Smart storage solutions like smart storage containers and smart storage furniture help you store all the small things that you own in a vast quantity in a small space.

2. Add lots of shelves to all the rooms

Shelves can completely change the look of dull unused space. It can make a simple wall look stylish! You can also keep lots of things you own in these shelves. There are quite a few types of racks to choose from when picking your storage space options. So don't forget to get creative with them.

3. Opt for a small dining table

A small dining table not only saves space but also fits anywhere. Round dining tables are the best for small rooms. They are also kids friendly since they don't have any sharp edges.

4. Invest in foldable furniture

Foldable furniture is a boon to a small apartment. These come in different materials like plastic, wood, aluminium and more, although people mostly prefer wood and aluminium since they last longer and look more appealing. These not only are lightweight, allowing you to move them around quickly but also serves a large number of purposes at your home.

5. Multifunctional furniture

Multipurpose furniture is another type of furniture you can invest in to save space and to increase your storage options at your home. As the name suggests, multifunctional furniture is multifunctional in use.

These are furniture pieces with alternate methods. They help reduce the clutter by decreasing the number of furniture pieces in your room. For example, an Ottoman can double as a storage unit and a coffee table.

6. Get some small tools for kitchen storage

Purchase some small tools like a pegboard, hooks, tension rods, and pot racks to store your kitchen essentials like pots and pans. These tools will help you declutter your kitchen!

And finally, a tip to make your small apartment room look bigger.

7. Trick the eye with mirrors

Strategically placed mirrors do wonder. Mirrors make your room look larger than it is. They reflect both artificial and natural light making the room look brighter throughout the day and night.

One way to place the mirror is to choose a focal point and then angle the mirror towards it. The light will be reflected by the mirror very deep into the room, creating an illusion of more space.
